Horizon 2020 EQUAL-IST project «Gender Equality Planning in Computer Science and Information Technology Research»

Horizon 2020 EQUAL-IST project «Gender Equality Planning in Computer Science and Information Technology Research» was aimed to implement structural changes to promote gender equality in computer science and information technology research institutions. 

The project consortium included: ViLabs OE - project coordinator (Greece), University of Venice (Italy), University of Muenster (Germany), University of Liechtenstein (Liechtenstein), University of Turku (Finland), Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy), University of Minho (Portugal), Kharkiv National University of Economics (Ukraine).

The aim of the project was to support the development and implementation of Gender Equality Plans in universities and research organizations in Europe; this process provides for gender mainstreaming and positive action at four levels: personnel management, organization and conduct of research, training and interaction with students, external and internal communications. 

The project included conducting a gender audit and developing a Gender Equality Plan for Kharkiv National University of Economics. The action plan was developed to provide equal rights and opportunities for women and men, as well as to ensure work-life balance. 

 

 

In Ukraine, the project was implemented in 2016-2019 by Kharkiv National University of Economics in cooperation with NGO "Actual Woman" with the support of the European Commission.
